Our graduate programme is open to new and recently graduated vets across the entire island of
Ireland. The year long Program will cover 6 modules covering all the basic needs of a veterinary
surgeon dealing with small animals. The modules will include both theory and hands on practical
learning, which is essential for new grads to learn and progress in their careers.

After completing the programme, you will be competent in numerous areas such as diagnostics,
small animal surgery, effective consults, ultrasound scanning and dentistry. Modules are
delivered in 5 single day modules and one 2-day module (dentistry). Each day you will meet the
same group of colleagues allowing you to build and connect with similar minded people. You can
share experience, support one another and rally behind one another.

An additional bonus included in this programme is an induction night prior to the first session.
This will allow all delegate to meet, get to know another and settle into the programme prior to
the first day of learning. A certificate will be issued upon completion of the programme to certify
your skills and competency gained over the year. And finally, a FREE yearlong membership to

This novel mode of study aims to deliver a year of small animal abdominal ultrasound CPD for the GP clinician wishing to upskill in this often underutilized imaging modality. It will run from July 2023 through to June 2024, thus covering 2 years of CPD allowance (40 CVE points). The course is composed of monthly online lectures with informal case discussions and includes 3 full days of hands-on practical sessions delivered in small groups.

This multimodal course aims to delve, in detail, into the ultrasonographic features of each organ system, the presentation of common pathologies, and the innate merits and pitfalls of ultrasound in yielding a diagnosis. We will, in addition, study this imaging modality in the context of the emergency critical care setting, addressing its importance in the serial monitoring of patients and becoming competent in performing AFAST® and TFAST® scans. The practical aspects of this course will focus on how to confidently accomplish a comprehensive systematic abdominal ultrasound, a basic thoracic ultrasound (excluding the heart), and techniques for performing ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations.

Ultrasound so wonderfully bridges the gap between medicine and surgery and is a fundamental instrument in any diagnostic tool kit. We feel this course will be an invaluable asset to the GP clinician at any stage of their career.
